Donetsk, Nov 1 – DAN. Ukrainian forces have shelled frontline areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic 755 times over 24 hours, a senior military official said.

“The situation in DPR has not changed in the past 24 hours and remains tense,” DPR Operations Command deputy chief Eduard Basurin told a news briefing at the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday. “Ukrainian gunmen opened fire on DPR territory 755 times.”

"Kiev forces fired 57 artillery rounds (31 of them of 152mm caliber), 403 mortar rounds (196 of them of 120mm caliber) and 25 tank gun rounds, also using grenade launchers, IFV cannons and small arms,” Basurin said.

Ukrainian army units targeted Dokuchayevsk and Yasnoye township nearby, Yasinovataya and neighbouring Spartak village, Zaitsevo, Shirokaya Balka and Shakhta Gagarina villages outside Gorlovka, Sakhanka and Leninskoye in DPR south, Elenovka southwest of Donetsk, Petrovskiy district in western and northern outskirts of Donetsk, Staromikhailovka and Donetsk Airport area.

Earlier, a DPR defense source told DAN that Ukrainian forces had fired some 270 artillery and mortar rounds at the Republic’s territory on Monday evening and overnight Tuesday. A report said a woman was wounded in western Donetsk as the city was shelled during the night.
