Donetsk, Aug 27 - DAN. Ukrainian forces sustained losses while shelling western Donetsk where two civilians were injured yesterday, the DPR People's Militia said.
Two civilians sustained injuries in Staromikhailovka in western Donetsk as a result of shelling from Ukrainian positions.
"Due to unsuccessful attempts to employ the coordination mechanism to stop Ukrainian fire, and with the purpose of civilians protection, in accordance with articles E, F of the Additional Measures, People's Militia units had to open retaliatory fire to suppress the enemy's fire activity. As a result of the action, an IFV was rendered inoperable, two (Ukrainian) fighters were injured," the report reads.
The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”.
