Donetsk, May 31 - DAN. Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire nine times over the past 24 hours firing more than 90 rounds of ammunition at Donetsk People’s Republic frontline areas, head of the DPR Mission to the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov said on Thursday.
“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire nine times expending 91 rounds of ammunition,” Yakubov said adding that Ukrainian army units delivered fire on the Donetsk, Gorlovka and Mariupol axes.
The northern suburbs of the DPR capital, the Zaitsevo and Golmovskiy neighbourhoods outside Gorlovka, Yasinovataya outskirts and southern DPR areas were targeted with 120mm and 82 mm mortars and infantry fighting vehicle cannons.
An apartment house in Dokuchayevsk was damaged in shelling by Ukrainian forces. On Wednesday, Ukrainian army units fired on an OSCE Special Monitoring Mission patrol in the vicinity of the Petrovskoye village south of Donetsk.
The intensity of strikes by Ukrainian forces has decreased over the past few days. The DPR explains it by the Ukrainian army’s setbacks on the front.*jk
