Donetsk, May 9 - DAN. Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire 11 times over the past 24 hours firing 116 rounds of ammunition at the Donetsk People’s Republic territory, head of the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination Ruslan Yakubov said on Thursday.
“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 11 times expending 116 rounds of ammunition,” Yakubov said.
Fire was delivered at the Trudovskaya Colliery neighbourhood in western Donetsk, the city airport, the Zaitsevo and Gagarin Colliery neighbourhoods in Gorlovka and the Novaya Tavriya village in southern DPR, he added. The enemy used 82mm and 120mm mortars, infantry fighting vehicle cannons, grenade launchers and high calibre small arms.
A civilian was wounded in western Donetsk in shelling by Ukrainian forces on Wednesday evening. A house in Zaitsevo was hit by a mortar round and burnt down. The house owner was not hurt.
In the previous reporting period, Ukrainian forces shelled the DPR with more than 150 rounds of ammunition in 16 ceasefire violations.*jk
