Donetsk, Sep 6 - DAN. Ukrainian radio electronic warfare systems are deployed along the entire contact line in Donbass, Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin said at a press briefing in Donetsk on Friday.
“Over the past week, we elicited numerous facts of operation of mobile units from the Ukrainian army 305th and 20th radio electronic warfare battalions,” Basurin said. “Their operation was detected along the entire contact line.”
They largely operated in the following areas: Lebedinskoye, Fyodorovka, Dzerzhinsk, Kurdyumovka, Novoluganskoye, Novoselovka, Konstantinovka, Petrovksoye, Bogdanovka, Gnutovo and Chermalyk, he added.
OSCE mission personnel had to stop using drones due to threat of their loss, Basurin said.
On top of that, the DPR intelligence reported that the Ukrainian army had massed special equipment in all the designated areas.
Employing combat aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in 30km-wide zone along the line of contact is banned under Article 7 of Minsk Memorandum dated September 19, 2014, with the exception to OSCE SMM UAVs.*jk
