Donetsk, Aug 20 - DAN. Ukrainian forces opened fire at the Donetsk People’s Republic once over the past 24 hours, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Thursday.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire once,” the report said. “Grenade launcher fire was delivered on the Gorlovka axis.”

Ukrainian army units have launched unmanned aerial vehicles twice in the Vodyanoye and Shirokino areas on the Mariupol axis since Wednesday; on top of that, explosions occurred at Ukrainian army positions next to the Leninskoye village on the Mariupol axis and the Travnevoye settlement on the Gorlovka axis, the JCCC said.

The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. A ban is imposed on the use of any armaments, including small mars by Ukraine, the DPR and the LPR, as well as on the deployment of hardware to the frontline, mining and further organizing  of positions. The document also prohibits the use of any aircraft and envisions punishment of ceasefire violators.*jk
