Donetsk, Sep 16 - DAN. Two houses, a utility shed and two cars were damaged as Ukrainian forces shelled the Yelenovka settlement outside Donetsk, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Thursday.

Damage to civil infrastructure was recorded at 67, 78 and 70 Pereyezdnaya Street. As of the time of shelling, two children were reportedly staying at 70 Pereyezdnaya Street. A 12-year-old child and a baby born in 2021 were not hurt.

The DPR Office sent a team to the scene to record the aftermath of the strike.

Earlier reports on Thursday said that the Kiev army had delivered a massive mortar strike at the Yelenovka area. Overall, 24 120mm mortar rounds were expended. Fire was delivered from the Slavnoye and Taramchuk settlements.

Yelenovka is located seven kilometers from Donetsk’s southern boundary. It accommodates a crossing point that links the DPR with Ukraine-held areas. It operates on Mondays and Fridays.*jk
