Donetsk, Dec 17 - DAN. Ukrainian forces fired at the Donetsk People’s Republic twice and violated the ban on engineer works as many times over the past 24 hours, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Thursday.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations have violated the indefinite ceasefire twice expending 12 rounds of ammunition,” the report said. (The amount of expended ammunition of calibre up to 12.7mm is not added to overall daily statistics - eds Donetsk News Agency).

Fire was delivered at the Shakhty 6/7 settlement area in Gorlovka and the Kominternovo village outskirts in southern DPR. The enemy used mortars, grenade launchers and small arms. On top of that, the enemy carried out engineer works in the Kiev-controlled Peski and Vodyanoye settlement areas.

In the previous reporting period, Ukrainian servicemen opened fire on the contact line with the DPR 14 times.

The package of Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of all weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights. By mid-September, Kiev had practically disavowed the “Additional Measures” as it rejected the coordination mechanism for responding to ceasefire violations.*jk
