Donetsk, Jun 8 - DAN. The members of the security group of the Contact group have held an emergency video conference on Kiev's violations of the disenhagement agreement, said DPR top negotiator Denis Pushilin.
"We mentioned issues recorded by the SMM in the Petrovskoye and Zolotoye sectors, namely Kiev's advance or recapture of positions. This activity compromises the Framework Agreement. The subgroup gathered today urgently to find the way out of the situation.
He said Kiev reps came up with usual absurd pretexts and referred to issues non-related to the Framework Decision.
Pushilin said the DPR hopes to get back to the situation at the next scheduled meeting in Minsk on June 13.
The JCCC first reported disengagement violations on the Ukrainian army side on May 6 as Kiev failed to comply with it in the Petrovskoye sector. LPR has since reported ukrainan advance, equipment deployment and minefields installations in the Zolotoye disengagement zone.
LPR and DPR representatives initialed a Framework Agreement on pullback of forces in Donbass on September 21-23, 2016, which was also signed by representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE.
The document provides for three disengagement areas around Zolotoye, Stanitsa Luganskaya (LPR territory) and Petrovskoe (DPR territory). Security zones of at least zone two km wide and two km long are to be established in each sector. Disengagement has only been completed in Petrovskoye (October 7, 2016) and Zolotoye (October 1, 2016).
Dozens of attempts to disengage in Stanitsa Lugansksya area have been disrupted by the Ukrainian side.
The Framework Agreement is key to further bilateral withdrawal of forces from the contact line which could significantly change the nature of peaceful settlement in the region. *ot
