Donetsk, Oct 14 — DAN. Russian forces have seized dominating heights in the Vremevka village area on the approach to the Velikaya Novoselka district center, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Friday.
“Pursuing the retreating Ukrainian army units on the Vremevka axis, Russian forces seized dominating heights in the Vremevka settlement area in the Donetsk People’s Republic, ” Konashenkov said.
Enemy losses on this axis amounted to more than 90 servicemen, two tanks, six armored vehicles and three pickups, he added.
Vremevka borders with large district center Velikaya Novoselka in the west. Fighting has continued in the area for several months. The settlement is a well-positioned transport junction and important fortified area of Ukrainian gunmen.*jk
