Donetsk, Sep 26 — DAN. Russian Air and Space Forces liquidated nearly 100 foreign mercenaries and 25 Ukrainian militants in the area of Svyatogorsk and Chasovoi Yar, the official representative of the Russian Defence Ministry Igor Konashenkov said.
“High-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces hit the temporary deployment locations of the 'foreign legion' and positions of nationalistic formations in the area of Svyatogorsk in the DPR liquidating up to 100 mercenaries,” he said.
Another missile strike on the forward command post of the 10th mountain assault brigade of the Ukrainian forces liquidated up to 25 personnel.
More than 40 militants sustained injuries. Eight pieces of equipment have been neutralized.
Konashenkov added that the Russian army also hit two command posts of the Ukrainian armed formations, including in Schurovo, Kirovo and a depot outside Kramatorsk.
Russia started a special military operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the decision had been made after the DPR and LPR Heads addressed him asking for help.
