Donetsk, Mar 6 — DAN. A Ukrainian fighter aircraft MiG-29 and a Su-27 have been shot down in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Zaporozhye region, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Monday.
“A Su-27 was downed in a dogfight in the Trudoolenovka village area 30 kilometers from the Zaporozhye airport, and a MiG-29 was shot down by air defense next to Krasnoarmeisk, 50 kilometers northwest of Donetsk, ” Konashenkov said adding that a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter was downed in the Novopavlovka area in the same district.
Russian forces also destroyed one Buk-M1 air defense system in Troitskoye (DPR), one S-300 air defense system radar in Andreyevka (DPR), two AN/TPQ-37 counterfire radars in Gulyaipole (Zaporozhye region) and Chasov Yar (DPR), an ammunition dump, four “Uragan” and “Grad” multiple launch rocket systems, two D-30 and “Akatsiya” howitzers and more than 50 armored and military vehicles, the spokesman said.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian air defense units have shot down nine enemy drones and 15 HIMARS and “Uragan” MLRS missiles.*jk
