Donetsk, Sep 16 — DAN. Russian armed forces have destroyed an “OSA-AKM” air defense missile system outside Soledar and intercepted high mobility missile artillery system rounds in the Donbass sky, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Friday.
“An ‘Osa-AKM’ air defense missile system was destroyed in the Soledar town area, ” Konashenkov said. “Also, 53 HIMARS missiles and ‘Olkha’ projectiles were destroyed in mid-air in the areas of Avdotyino (Donetsk People’s Republic), Golaya Pristan, Novaya Kakhovka, Antonovka, Vesyoloye (Kherson Region) and Mirnoye (Zaporozhye Region).”
Russian air defense units shot down five unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of Avdeyevka (Donetsk People’s Republic) and Tomarino and Stepovoye (Kherson Region), he added.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukrainian army losses since the beginning of the special operation have amounted to 293 warplanes, 155 helicopters, 1,965 UAVs, 375 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4,940 tanks and armored vehicles, 837 multiple rocket launcher vehicles, 3,392 artillery pieces and mortars and 5,616 special purpose vehicles.*jk
