Donetsk, Feb 22 — DAN. Russian army units have destroyed a temporary accommodation center for foreign mercenaries in the Kiev-held village of Memrik in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in comments on special military operation results over the past 24 hours.
“Russia’s aerospace forces delivered strikes at a large caliber mortar production and repair facility in the Sumy area and a control center of the Ukrainian army’s 72nd Mechanized Brigade outside Dobrovolye in the Donetsk people’s Republic, ” Konashenkov said. “Ammunition dumps of 68th Mountain Infantry Brigade and 123rd and 126th Territorial Defense Brigades were destroyed, respectively, outside Katerinovka in the DPR and Antonovka and Chernobayevka in the Kherson region.”
Russian forces also knocked out eight howitzers and 20 armored vehicles. Air defense units shot down nine HIMARS missiles and ten Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles. The enemy suffered manpower losses on nearly all axes, the spokesman said.
Russia has been conducting the special military operation since February 24, 2022.*jk
