Donetsk, Oct 6 — DAN. Russian aerospace forces have shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 and a Su-24 northwest of Donetsk, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Thursday.

“Russian fighters have shot down two Ukrainian warplanes over the past 24 hours, ” Konashenkov said. “A MiG-29 was downed in the Novogrodovka settlement area and a Su-24 in the Sviridonovka area.”

Russian air defense units intercepted three Olkha multiple rocket launcher rounds in the Velikaya Novoselka area in the west of the Donetsk People’s Republic, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles in the Orlinskoye and Mospino areas, he added.

Ukraine’s losses since the beginning of the special military operation have amounted to 315 warplanes, 157 helicopters, 2,160 UAVs, 379 anti-aircraft missile systems, 5,412 tanks and armored vehicles, 862 multiple rocket launcher vehicles, 3,452 artillery pieces and mortars and 6,316 special purpose vehicles, the Russian Defense Ministry said.*jk
