Donetsk, Aug 7 - DAN. Three Donetsk People’s Republic militiamen have beeb killed on an assignment to provide medical aid to a civilian, DPR Operations Command spokesman Daniil Bezsonov said.
“A resident of Naberezhnoye (settlement in the Novoazovskiy district - eds Donetsk News Agency) called an ambulance on Monday night saying that she felt sick and had a heartache. As civilian medicine personnel were unable to reach the frontline district at night, the ambulance call was redirected one of our units on the Donetsk axis,” Bezsonov said.
A Ural truck with two female medics was dispatched to the patient’s address. The vehicle had the ambulance marking and moved slowly with the rotating beacon and headlights on.
As it was approaching the settlement it was hit by an anti-tank missile fired from the Ukrainian army’s 93rd brigade positions. All the people inside were killed.
“How can we talk about international conventions or rules of engagement in this case if the very notion of humaneness has long been erased from the memory of a majority of Ukrainian servicemen in the zone of this fratricidal conflict,” Bezsonov said. “We urge all international and human rights organisations to pay attention to these atrocities committed by the Ukrainian side.” *jk
