Donetsk, Dec 25 – DAN. Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire 2,111 times in 2020, causing civilian and military casualties, said DPR People's Militia deputy chief-of-staff Eduard Basurin.
"In 2020, we recorded 2,111 violations of the ceasefire agreements by the Ukrainian side, most of incidents occurred on the Donetsk axis, where 1,238 violations were reported."
Overall, the enemy fired 17,438 rounds including more than 800 mortar and artillery rounds.
Five civilians were killed, 40 injured, including seven children; 572 houses were hit, 16 of those completely destroyed.
The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”.
