Donetsk, May 18 – DAN. Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 202 times over the past week, the Donetsk People’s Republic Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Friday.
“The enemy violated the ceasefire 202 times over the past week firing 150 artillery rounds of 122mm caliber, 48 tank gun rounds, 1,544 120mm and 82mm mortar rounds,” he said. The ene,y also used infantry fighting vehicle cannons, grenade launchers and small arms.
Ukrainian army units shelled 22 DPR townships, damaging 25 residential houses. They expended almost 900 rounds targeting DPR territory in the past 24 hours, violating the ceasefire 39 times.
The security situation in Donbass has deteriorated recently. Gorlovka and the Donetsk Water Treatment Plant remain hotspots on the contact line. In view of hostilities surge, the Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE SMM to Ukraine Alexander Hug headed to the region. *ot*pp
