Donetsk, Sep 25 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations have violated the Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire in Donbass 140 times since they came into force on July 27, 2020, the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Friday.
“We’ve recorded 140 violations by Ukrainian armed formations since the additional measures to strengthen the existing indefinite ceasefire came into force,” Basurin said.
Ukrainian forces violated the ban on opening fire, including sniper fire in 41 cases, and used unmanned aerial vehicles 25 times, he added.
Also, Basurin noted 74 facts of engineer works to complete the development of positions by servicemen of the Ukrainian army’s 53rd and 54th Separate Mechanised Brigades, 35th and 36th Separate Marines Brigades, 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade and 56th Separate Motorised Infantry Brigade.
The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of any weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights and envisions punishment of violators. Meanwhile, Donetsk said that it had broached the issue of revision of the additional ceasefire control measures following Kiev’s rejection of the coordination mechanism for observing them.*jk
