Donetsk, Jun 9 – DAN. The Ukrainian army has abandoned positions it captured in late November 2017 in Gladosovo and Travnevoye outside Gorlovka, said the head of the DPR Armed Forces press service Daniil Bezsonov.
"Violent capture of Gladosovo and Metallist (Travnevoye) and strife to hold those disadvantageous positions resulted in a shameful retreat of Ukrainian terrorists from the townships."
Bezsonov said that currently there are about four Ukrainian troops left in the villages who observe Republican positions; Ukrainian troops often just walk away from the villages.
Earlier it was reported that locals were forced out of their houses. As Ukrainian forces advanced towards the grey zone outside Gorlovka, they did the same to the Chigari population, displacing 130 civilians since early May 2018; some of the civilians are listed as missing.
Gladosovo and Travnevoye were occupied by Ukrainian forces on November 22 and 25, correspondingly. Mortars were deployed to the townships, the territory was mined. *ot
