Donetsk, Sep 18 - DAN. Ukrainian armoured vehicles were sighted within the boundaries of the security zone in the Petrovskoye village area south of Donetsk, the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia said on Wednesday.
“Ukrainian armed formations continue to strengthen their positions with armoured vehicles within the Petrovskoye disengagement zone where we recorded hidden deployment of two armoured personnel carriers and two BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles,” the report said.
Reports on Tuesday said that Ukrainian forces had planted anti-tank mines on the road leading to Petrovskoye.
Under the Minsk Contact Group framework agreement, the Petrovskoye village is on the list of pilot Donbass areas of disengagement of forces and hardware. The conflicting parties withdrew their units from Petrovskoye in October 2016. However, Ukrainian armed forces were later sighted in the area again. Donetsk demands that Kiev restore the parity and pull back its troops from the disengagement area.*jk
