Donetsk, May 21 – DAN. Ukrainian army units expended almost 300 rounds targeting DPR territory in the past 24 hours, violating the ceasefire 20 times, said DPR representative at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov.
“Ukrainian armed forces fired 271 rounds, the number of violations is 20," he said.
Yakubov said the enemy used mortars, infantry fighting vehicle cannons, armored personnel carrier guns, grenade launchers, small arms to target Gorlovka, northern Donetsk-Spartak, Yasinovataya, Krutaya Balks, Mineralnoye, Vasilyevka, Zaitsevo, Ozeryanovka, Gagarina Mine village, Dokuchayevsk and southern villages of Bezymennoye, Kominternovo and Sakhanka.
Four residential houses have been damaged in Gorlovka.
Petrovskoye has also come under shelling, where the first of three pilot disengagements of forces and hardware took place in 2016. The area was considered demilitarized. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian armed forces have been breaching the Framework agreement on the disengagement since May 2018, according to the JCCC.
The security situation in Gorlovka and on its outskirts has deteriorated recently, as shelling continues even during the day. The number of civilian casualties is alarmingly growing: four people were killed from May 13 to May 20, seven were injured. *ot
