Donetsk, Aug 25 — DAN. Russian armed forces have killed more than 200 Ukrainian gunmen on a train bound for Donbass using an “Iskander” missile, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Thursday.

“An ‘Iskander’ missile hit a military train at the Chaplino railway station in the Dnepropetrovsk region, killing more than 200 Ukrainian reservists and destroying ten pieces of military hardware, ” Konashenkov said.

Coalition forces have silenced two “Grad” MLRS platoons outside Artyomovsk and Sukhaya Balka, and three D-30 howitzer platoons in the  Novgorodskoye (New York on Ukrainian maps — eds Donetsk News Agency), Vesyholoye and Yevgenovka areas in the north and southwest of the DPR, he added.

Earlier reports on Thursday said that DPR militiamen had destroyed an enemy tank, two unmanned aerial vehicles and three armored vehicles and killed thirty Ukrainian nationalists.

Russia began a special military operation aimed at the demilitarization and de-nazification of Ukraine on February 24. As of today, the Russian army jointly with DPR and LPR militia units  have fully liberated the Lugansk People’s Republic and a large part of the Kherson region, as well as parts of the Nikolayev, Zaporozhye and Kharkov regions. In the Donetsk People’s Republic fighting is ongoing on the Slavyansk, Donetsk and Artyomovsk axes.*jk
