Donetsk, Apr 12 – DAN. An explosion rocked a Ukrainian arms depot outside Yasinovataya today, said DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin.

"Today at around 7 a.m. an explosion occurred at the vicinity of Butovskaya mine air shaft on Kiev-controlled territory, at an ammunition depot. Most probably, the blast was caused by violations of safety rules or a targeted detonation perpetrated to conceal thefts," he said.

DPR intelligence says Ukrainian munition storage sites are exposed to critical safety violations and are subject to larceny. The most recent and bright example is a massive explosion at an ammunition warehouse in Balakleya, Kharkov district, which stored about 138,000 tons of ammunition. The blast and the subsequent detonations sparked evacuation of 20,000 people.*ot
