Donetsk, Mar 12 - DAN. Electioneers are ready to pay up to 500 hryvnas to Ukrainian army servicemen in Donbass for supporting Petr Poroshenko at the upcoming presidential election, Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia spokesman Daniil Bezsonov said on Tuesday.

“Poroshenko’s representatives have free access to army units where they openly engage in electioneering; cases of bribery of servicemen from 93rd Mechanised Brigade and 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade have been reported,” Bezsonov said.

“The sum offered for a vote for Poroshenko ranges from 250 to 500 hryvnas,” he said.

The statement by Joint Forces Operations commander Sergey Nayev alleging a ban on and inadmissibility of electioneering at military units was a bluff, the spokesman added.

The presidential election in Ukraine is scheduled for March 31. Earlier reports said that Ukrainian military leaders in Donbass had been making all efforts to secure the army’s massive support of Poroshenko.*jk*pp
