Donetsk, Oct 8 – DAN. The DPR People's Militia command has warned airlines about operating in western Ukrainian airspace where the maneuvers of anti-aircraft units, including the one that brought down Malaysia Airlines passenger Boeing, are taking place.
Ukraine has begun the Clear Sky 2018 live fire drills that focus on the air-to-ground scenarios; the notorious 223rd anti-aircraft regiment, which has downed the MH17 Boeing-777, is partaking, said the head of the DPR command press service Daniil Bezsonov.
"The bitter experience of Ukrainian air defense in the past 20 years reminds that airlines should take precautions and temporarily divert flights from the abovementioned zone to avoid new victims of Kiev terrorists' crimes."
Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed on 17 July 2014, killing all 283 passengers and 15 crew on board. The independent joint investigation team (JIT) led by Dutch authorities includes experts from Australia, Malaysia, Ukraine and Belgium. It was established that the missile that shot down the aircraft was in possession of the Ukraine's 223 anti-aircraft missile regiment.*ot
