Donetsk, Feb 22 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia intelligence has spotted positions of Ukrainian army missile systems in areas of international airports in Ukraine, DPR People’s Militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Tuesday.
“Our intelligence is recording the movement of columns of units of Ukrainian air defense missile regiments armed with S-300 and BUK-M1 systems and their taking up launching sites in the areas of international airports of the cities of Kiev, Kharkov and Cherkassy,” Basurin said. “We don’t rule out provocations against civil aircraft.”
On top of that, the DPR intelligence spotted the arrival and going on alert of BUK-M1 air defense missile systems from 223rd Air Defense Missile Regiment in the areas of the Mangush, Novoalexandrovka, Toretsk, Kramatorsk and Kamyshnoye settlements in the Stanichno-Lugansky district. These weapons can hit airborne targets at an altitude of up to 22 kilometers within a 30-kilometer radius, he said.
Earlier reports on Tuesday said that Kiev had deployed tanks and multiple rocket launchers to the Mariupol area and reinforced the front with rear units of two brigades. *jk
