Donetsk, Oct 8 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic Prosecutor General’s Office opened criminal proceedings against two Ukrainian army brigade commanders who the investigators said were complicit in the shelling of Gorlovka and Dokuchayevsk in early October.
“Criminal proceedings were instituted under Article 229, Part 2 of the DPR Criminal Code against 53rd Separate Mechanised Brigade commander Andrey Polyakov and 35th Separate Marines Brigade commander Nikolay Palas,” the PGO press service reported.
The Ukrainian army officers are suspected of issuing orders to their subordinates to open fire at Gorlovka’s Shirovkaya Balka neighbourhood and Dokuchayevsk on October 2 and October 3, respectively. Five houses were damaged in the shelling.
Earlier reports said that DPR prosecutors had initiated criminal proceedings against Ukrainian army 28th Separate Mechanised Brigade commander Maxim Marchenko involved in the wounding of a civilian in the Staromikhailovka neighbourhood in Donetsk’s Kirovskiy district.*jk
