Donetsk, Sep 8 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic militiamen shot down a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle which had crossed into the DPR air space in the Gorlovka area in violation of the additional ceasefire control measures, the DPR People’s Militia reported on Tuesday.

“We observed the use of unmanned aerial vehicle by 35th Brigade commanders in the Zaitsevo (Severnoye) settlement area which flew towards Zaitsevo (Yuzhnoye), supposedly to check on their positions concealment,” the report said.

The invading Ukrainian UAV was shot down; specialists are currently examining the drone flash drives, the DPR militia said.

The Joint Centre for Control and Coordination said that the Ukrainian drone had flown over DPR territory.

“The flight of a Ukrainian army quadcopter was recorded in the Zaitsevo (Yuzhnoye) settlement area at 14:25; the UAV was downed,” the JCCC said.

The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. A ban is imposed on the use of all kinds of armaments and unmanned aerial vehicles, any offensives including deployment of hardware to the frontline, and engineer works to construct fighting positions.*jk
