Donetsk, Jun 25 - DAN. Three Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in the attack at Donetsk People’s Republic positions outside Mariupol, DPR armed forces spokesman Daniil Bezsonov reported on Monday.

“At around 13:00 on Sunday, when Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine Martin Sajdik was present in the Gnutovo settlement area, a group of ten to twelve Ukrainian servicemen advanced towards our positions,” Bezsonov said. “The Ukrainian terrorists were unable to approach unnoticed; they fell into a trap and suffered casualties; three gunmen were wounded.”

The wounded servicemen were abandoned in the battlefield, he said. As the Ukrainians were retreating, their artillery opened fire towards neighbourhoods in the Donetsk People’s Republic. No casualties or damage were immediately reported.

Kiev forces have tried to attack the Republic twice over the weekend. DPR militia rebuffed the first attack in southern DPR at around 01:00 on June 23. Three Ukrainian servicemen were reportedly killed.*jk
