Donetsk, Jul 14 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic militiamen evacuated the body of a Ukrainian marine killed in a mine explosion on Monday when his group was moving towards DPR positions, the DPR People’s Militia reported on Tuesday.
Three Ukrainian commandos tripped mines in Zaitsevo, the DPR militia said earlier.
At Ukraine’s request, the People’s Militia repeatedly provided security guarantees for evacuating the killed Ukrainian serviceman ,” the report said. “In response, Ukrainian gunmen intensified strikes using a drone for fire-adjustment. Later on, we retrieved the body of the 35th Brigade 137th Battalion serviceman abandoned by the marines command, and are ready to hand it over to relatives.”
The serviceman had special task force equipment, for example, an assault rifle with a silencer, telescoping stock, ergonomic grip and Picatinny rail (a mounting platform for accessories such as laser target marker or optic sight).
The DPR militia earlier reported that six Ukrainian commandos had walked into a minefield in the Zaitsevo settlement area in northern Gorlovka. One serviceman was killed and another two were wounded in mine explosions.*jk
