Donetsk, Jan 10 – DAN. Kiev forces employed Buk-M1 missile systems, capable of hitting targets at up to 18km in altitude, in military drills in Donetsk area, said DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin.
"Our intelligence data shows that the enemy concentrates anti-aircraft systems at combat areas. In the area of responsibility of the 30th separate mechanized brigade, outside Krasnoye village west of Donetsk, four Buk-M1 missile systems of Ukrainian armed forces were engaged in a comprehensive drill."
He said Ukrainian army trained to search, spot, tackle and track aerial targets and to release weapons in training mode.
The DPR intelligence believes, Ukrainian army is planning to down a US drone with the Buk system to blame DPR forces.
Basurin reminded that the DPR does nor posses anti-aircraft equipment capable of downing high altitude targets. *ot
