Donetsk, Aug 24 – DAN. DPR has handed nearly 140 detainees over to Ukraine as a gesture of good will over the course of the conflict, said DPR Ombudswoman Daria Morozova.
"The Donetsk People's Republic has freed approximately 140 people as a gesture of good will and in manifestation of our sincere commitment to the Minsk Agreements. We asked nothing in return."
Morozova also spoke about the work of the humanitarian subgroup's during the meeting in Minsk where its participants discussed the possibility of a new prisoner exchange on the all for all basis.
Kiev proposed to hand over two Russian citizens to Russia in exchange for three Ukrainian servicemen held in the DPR. Morozova said the proposition is unacceptable and at odds with the Minsk Agreements.
The latest swap took place on December 27, 2017 when DPR handed over 57 people to Ukraine, and 160 people came back to Donetsk. After that the swap negotiations stalled, as Kiev representatives in Minsk refused to discuss it or missed meetings. *ot
