Donetsk, Apr 28 - DAN. Ukrainian forces might continue to shell Donetsk People’s Republic territory during May holidays, DPR envoy to Minsk talks Denis Pushilin told reporters on Friday.
“The amount of hardware and personnel Ukraine has deployed as well as the unceasing provocations can hardly contribute to ceasefire,” he said. “We can tell it from last night incidents when Makeyevka and Donetsk came under fire. “
“Of course, these issues are raised and discussed in Minsk. It’s a big question whether relative ceasefire can be observed during May holidays,” he said.
The Contact Group participants at the meeting in Minsk on 29 March agreed a ceasefire in Donbass ahead of Easter holidays starting from 1 April midnight. Ukrainian forces violated the truce seven times shortly after it came into effect.
The parties then agreed a new ceasefire starting from 10:00 a.m. on 13 April, but Ukrainian forces have continued to shell DPR territory since. *jk
