Donetsk, Nov 11 – DAN. DPR has confirmed the death of a battalion commander in the November 6 Ukrainian attack that left two service members dead, said DPR representative in the Contact Group, Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova.
'Three service members were killed (since the Additional measures came into force), one of them is Andrey Pankin, battalion commander, who was trying to save the life of his soldier injured in the Ukrainian attack, The commander was killed by a sniper, which contradicts the logic of the active unconditional and indefinite ceasefire and internationally recognized humanitarian norms,' she said.
Since July 27, Ukraine fired more than 500 rounds, excluding small arms, 254 of those in the past two weeks only.
The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”.
