Donetsk, Aug 7 – DAN. Ukrainian army is widely ignoring the ban on engineer works, said DPR People's Militia deputy chief-of-staff Eduard Basurin commenting on reports of 18 episodes of fortification works involving blast engineering on the Ukrainian side of the contact line.
"Ukrainian forces keep fortifying their frontline positions. Our monitors reported 18 episodes of engineer works performed by the 57, 54, 79, 53 and 35 brigades to finalize fortifications, involving blast engineering."
The works were carried out all along the line of contact, in Avdeyevka, Vodyanoye, Krasnogorovka, Maryinka, Novoluganskoye, Novotroitskoye, Opytnoye, Peski, Pischevik, Starognatovka, Troitskoye, Shumy, accompanied by installation of mines.
"Over the week, the enemy installed 427 anti-tank mines (TM-62) across 1,712 sq m of land outside Vodyanoye and Mayorsk."
The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”.
