Donetsk, Jan 12 - DAN. Two hundred and eighty-nine new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the Donetsk People’s Republic over the past 24 hours, the DPR Healthcare Ministry reported on Tuesday.

“DPR medics carried out 494 tests on January 11; 201 people tested positive and another 88 showed clinical and epidemiological signs of COVID-19,” the report said.

Five hundred and one patients have recovered and 16 have died since Monday. The DPR currently has 16  498 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 9,744 patients have recovered, 5, 290 people continue in- or outpatient treatment and 1,464 have died, the Ministry said.

Ukraine has reported 5,116 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours which brings the number of the infected to 1,124,430. The country’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 20,019 since the beginning of the pandemic.*jk
