Donetsk, Sep 21 - DAN. Famous Soviet and Russian singer Iosif Kobzon will give a concert at the Donetsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre on 30 September, DPR Culture Ministry press service told Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“Iosif Kobzon will arrive in Donetsk on 30 September. He will customarily visit the Donetsk Music Academy,” a press service representative said. “The Culture Ministry plans a presentation of the photo album it prepared for the occasion of the singer’s jubilee.”
“In the evening, Kobzon will give a concert on the Donbass Opera stage,” she said.
Iosif Kobzon was born in Chasov Yar town (currently held by Kiev forces), Artyomovsk District, Donetsk Region in 1937. He has openly supported the Donbass people’s choice since the beginning of the conflict.
Kobzon repeatedly came to Donetsk to give concerts. He was awarded People’s Artist of DPR title on February, 23, 2015, and the Hero of DPR title on August, 29.
The singer marked his 80th birthdate on 11 September 2017.*jk
