Donetsk, Feb 18 - DAN. The Donetsk Local History Museum hosted a meeting on Thursday over a plan of events for the Year of Russian Culture in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Russian Centre press service reported.

The meeting was attended by DPR parliament deputy speaker Olga Makeyeva, DPR Culture Minister Mikhail Zheltyakov, Russian Centre executive director Yelena Yevseyeva and activists representing the spheres of education and culture.

“We tried to cover all spheres of culture and education such as music, theatres, museum and library science etc.,” the Russian Centre press service quoted Yevseyeva as saying. “Today, intelligentsia and education and culture spheres representatives brought forward their proposals. Some of them will be included in the plan.” 

The Year of Russian Culture will feature the online lecture courses “Russian Truth,” online conferences on Russian culture figures, scientific and methodological seminars conducted by experts from Russian regions, master classes by Russian folklore and ethnographic groups artists, online and onsite meetings with writers, the folk culture festival “Days of Russia in Donbass,” and the contest “Russian Centre Correspondent.”

The year 2021 was announced the Year of Russian Culture at the international forum “Russian Donbass” on January 28.*jk
