Donetsk, Jun 9 — DAN. Authorities plan to integrate the Forged Figures Park in Donetsk into the Art Donbass museum, city administration officials said on Friday.
“To preserve the authenticity and uniqueness of the (Forged Figures) Park and improve its appearance, the Donetsk City Administration is working on museumification of the park on the basis of the Art Donbass Museum, ” the City Hall press service told the Donetsk News Agency.
The park comprises 232 pieces of art which require “care and maintenance.” Due to regular artillery attacks on the city by Ukrainian forces, the authorities’ priority is damage control and rebuilding of infrastructure to meet the residents’ basic needs, the press service said.
Founded in central Donetsk’s Voroshilovsky district in 2001, the Forged Figures Park remains the only cultural object of such format in Europe.*jk
